• 02.07.2023 Lego podcast

Carolien was a guest in a podcast about lego for the LEGO Group… What is the relationship with her work and enthusiasm for the leisure sector?

The conversation started with Lego and logically the acquisition of the Legoland Discovery Center to The Hague. But the National Monument Oranjehotel was also discussed and the special stories that are told there. At the end it was still about Puy du Fou, which "is not yet in the Netherlands...". At the time of recording it was not yet known that they might come to Meppel. And they also talked about dispersion, undiscovered places, memories and souvenirs.

  • 09.06.2023 Assignment event policy

Leisure Link, in collaboration with Sweco, has been commissioned to draw up a new events policy for the city of Apeldoorn. We are very proud to have won this tender. It is a challenging assignment, because the new events policy must contain various domains (citymarketing, economy, culture, sports, social), have a concrete effect in subsidy frameworks and must also be completed before the end of the summer. And as an extra element: involving as many stakeholders and residents as possible during summer holiday! Leisure Link is happy to take on this challenge and the collaboration with Sweco.

  • 12.01.2023 Keynote destination management

During the the 'Vakantiebeurs', Carolien Nederlof gave a presentation on the most important priorities and choices in destination management. Based on  practical examples, many tips were passed on where to start and what you should pay attention to. For example, Carolien explained that when drawing up the marketing and communication plan for the Zaanse Schans, the selection of target groups was an important first step, especially since the Zaanse Schans wants more control over the visitors. But also daring to choose NOT to do something came up, for example when drawing up the action program for Hardenberg, where campaign periods and themes are clearly defined.

  • 09.09.2022 Subsidy agrotourism granted

Making the agricultural sector in Westland visitable and experienceable is the ambition of the municipality and Visit Westland. In order to give this ambition an impulse, we wrote a projectplan containing various activities to stimulate agricultural tourism. This plan was subsequently submitted to the province of South Holland for an incentive subsidy.

Luckely, this subsidy has been granted! With this, the municipality of Westland can get to work with the project plan and take a major step towards linking tourism and attracting visitors with the agricultural sector.

  • 15.03.2021 Masterplan Veenpark support

Drenthe is famous for its original character and historic basis. The museum, attractions and sites are often related to the unique stories of the region. One of the stories is the history of the peat extraction, which can be experiences in the Veenpark in Barger-Compascuum, near Emmen. The Veenpark has the ambition to give the park a significant boost in terms of storyline, experience, interaction and quality level.

In order to realize this ambition, a Veenpark Masterplan has been drawn up, detailing the content of Veenpark 2.0 and the various phases in the development. This describes the story, the new functions, the various activities, the organization and the business case.

We provided feedback on the first version of the plan and subsequently cooperated in improving the plan. Particularly in the areas of customer flow, organization and business case, the development of the master plan was helped. On the 12th of March it was announced that the province of Drenthe and the municipality of Emmen have made a one-off budget available for the development of the park and an additional annual contribution up to and including 2024 for the operation.
